WHO IS REV. CECIL BEGBIE?
(Cecil Begbie with his wife Laurita)
Rev. Cecil W. Begbie B.D.; A.K.C.; A.F.T.S.
Founder, President and Executive Trustee
H.E.L.P. Ministries International is directed by Rev. Cecil Begbie who is the Founder and President of the organisation. He has been seconded by the Methodist Church of Southern Africa to work fulltime with H.E.L.P. since January 1998.
Evangelist, pastor and teacher, Reverend Begbies education and training has carried him through the prestigious hallways of Federal Theological Seminary of Southern Africa, St. Augustines College in Canterbury, England, Kings College of London University, The Pacific College for Evangelism in Sydney, Australia and the Haggai Institute in Singapore. He has lectured and preached in many nations throughout the world, and has a passion for reconciliation and healing. Rev. Begbie was at the forefront of the struggle for justice, peace and freedom in South Africa whilst serving the church as President of the Witwatersrand Council of Churches and on the Executive Committee of the South African Council of Churches.
Having reflected on his experience at this level of witness he now feels convinced that through evangelism and the healing ministry of Jesus Christ the Christian leader can make a significant contribution towards meaningful change in South Africa. In the South African nation, torn and devastated by racism, violence, poverty, drought, famine and war, the organizations vision is to equip leaders with the necessary skills to rebuild the nation.
Having reflected on his many years of being in the fulltime ministry of the Church since 1968, he has reached the point where he feels convinced that:
HEALING AND EVANGELISM, ACCOMPANIED BY SERVANT LEADERSHIP OF INTEGRITY, IS THE PRIMARY CALLING OF THE CHURCH.
